Embattled GOP Sen. Cochran didn't know about Cantor loss: 'Really'
Sen. Thad Cochran (R) is very busy dealing with his Republican primary runoff in Mississippi, in which he is in serious danger of losing to an even more conservative challenger — so busy, in fact, that he hadn't even heard about the huge news this week that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) just lost his primary to a more conservative challenger.
During an interview Thursday in Mississippi with Fox News, the reporter asked Cochran, "What happened in Virginia the other day, does that concern you for your chances here in this runoff?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Cochran replied. "What happened in Virginia?"

After the somewhat surprised reporter then explained the situation to Cochran, the senator then commented, "Yeah, well, it happens. You know, members of Congress, some win, some lose. It's not an automatic proposition that you get re-elected just because you've done a good job. Voters make their own decisions, and I respect their judgment." --Eric Kleefeld
