To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters, the movie will be restored, remastered, and re-released right before Labor Day.

On August 29, the blockbuster will make its way to theaters in more than 700 locations across the United States and Canada. Variety reports that collectors can also purchase the movie and a 25th anniversary edition of Ghostbusters II on Blu-ray Sept.16. "Ghostbusters is still one of our studio's most beloved franchises — I was lucky enough to work on the release of the film on its first run, so it's a real thrill for me to see that it's still connecting with audiences everywhere," Rory Bruer, president of worldwide distribution for Sony Pictures, said.
