It's a hard-knock life for Quvenzhané Wallis in the new Annie trailer

"I love this city. The harder I work, the more opportunities you get," says Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx), a modern riff on Daddy Warbucks, in the new trailer for the modernized remake of Annie. "No matter who you are or what you are, you've just got to want it bad enough." Stacks wants to be New York City's next mayor, and it looks like he's on track to pull it off.
Things are a little more hard-knock for Annie (Quvenzhane Wallis), who lives in an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). But Annie's chance encounter with Will Stacks turns out to be mutually beneficial: She wants a father figure, and he wants the boost in the polls that he gets by hanging around with an orphan. "Annie's never going to find her family. None of us are," says a fellow orphan. But something tells me we'll be in for a happier ending when Annie arrives in December. --Scott Meslow
