This $55 Frappuccino is the most expensive Starbucks drink ever

In case you're wondering, someone has created the most expensive Starbucks drink ever. Our trailblazer is Andrew, a Dallas man who used his complimentary drink coupon to create a $55 heart-attack potion dubbed the "Sexagintuple Vanilla Bean Mocha Frappuccino."

Andrew told Consumerist that it was his goal to create a drinkable concoction, unlike the previous record holder, who made a $47 drink consisting of bananas, pumpkin spice, and "lots of other things that probably don't go well together." So, he came armed to a Starbucks location with a 128-ounce glass and a charming personality in order to persuade the baristas to help him out.

In the end, Andrew's barista managed to pack 60 shots into his drink. With 75 milligrams of caffeine in each shot, that equals a mind-boggling 4,500 mg of caffeine — far higher than the 400 mg of caffeine that's recommended for adult consumption by the Mayo Clinic.

The concoction may sound horrifying, but Andrew assured Consumerist that it tastes delicious. He's even live-tweeting the experience. Starbucks, however, is less thrilled, and called Andrew's beverage "totally excessive." --Jordan Valinsky
