A group of Idaho parents succeeded in getting a novel about a Native American boy who transfers to an all-white school pulled from their district's 10th-grade curriculum, then called the cops when protesting students starting handing out copies of the book to their classmates. Parents said The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is "anti-Christian" because it contains offensive words and a "reference to masturbation."
