You can put away your "lean in to public office" jokes because Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg has denied rumors that she is plotting a political run.
"I have ruled it out. I don't think that's for me," Sandberg said this morning on NBC's Today. "I really love my job, and I have no plans to make any changes." The comments come a few weeks after a report in the Daily Mail indicated that she was considering a run for one of California's two Senate seats.
Rumors of Sandberg's departure were initially spurred by the revelation that she has sold half of her Facebook stock since the company went public less than two years ago. But, it's nothing to worry about, Sandberg insisted. "A good chunk of what was sold was all for taxes, so there's just confusion on that," she said. "I love my job. I love what we do every day to connect the world, and I love being able to work on 'lean in' in my personal time."
