Apple is reportedly in talks with Comcast to produce a streaming television service that would be powered by an Apple-produced device and would receive "special treatment" on the cable company's bandwidth, according to the Wall Street Journal.

In the proposed scenario, Apple would let users access live and on-demand TV via the "cloud," which would replace the need for a clunky, set-top box. Teaming up with Comcast would let Apple's material get priority over other internet traffic in the network's "last mile" section, the area that tends to get clogged when too many users try to access a streaming service like Netflix.
