For those who have everything: The perfect cocktail maker
An app that helps you make the perfect cocktail — and more in our collection of bizarrely elite consumer products

Think of Brookstone's Perfect Drink kit ($70) as "bartender training wheels," said Marissa Rothkopf Bates at Newsweek. Instead of measuring ingredients for cocktails or just eyeing the ratios, you let a scale and a dedicated app handle the precision work. Just put the shaker on the scale and start pouring: The app will show you when to stop with the brandy, the triple sec, and the lemon juice until the sidecar of your dreams is ready for ice and a shake. It even counts down the optimum 10 seconds of shaking time. The app's a bit buggy, but because it makes so many cocktails well, it's already welcome at our parties.
