While many of us were shaking our fists at the sky for its bitter cold, people in the United Kingdom got a rare glimpse at the Northern Lights. Cities from Scotland to northern England saw the heavens light up in beautiful greens, purples, and reds last night as the Aurora Borealis formation shined brightly. Naturally, people were in awe of the seldom occurrence and tweeted out pictures, like this one below.
