For those who have everything: All that glitters is not cheese
A cheese infused with bits of actual gold — and more in our collection of bizarrely elite consumer products
A British dairy has introduced what might be the world's "blingiest cheese" — a Stilton infused with flecks of edible gold leaf. The decadent appetizer, created by Long Clawson Dairy, sells for $94 per 100-gram slice (about 3.5 ounces). That's about 67 times pricier than regular Stilton (and more than 150 times more expensive than Velveeta). It'll cost you roughly $10 for a morsel big enough to spread onto a cracker. Which raises a key question, says Melissa Locker at TIME. What "blinged-out cracker could deign to sit underneath such a cheese?"
