Feds to recommend felony charges against David Petraeus

That's the word from The New York Times:

The FBI and Justice Department prosecutors have recommended bringing felony charges against retired Gen. David H. Petraeus for providing classified information to his former mistress while he was director of the CIA, officials said, leaving Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to decide whether to seek an indictment that could send the pre-eminent military officer of his generation to prison. [The New York Times]

Petraeus, most famously the architect of the 2006-07 surge in Iraq, who literally wrote the book on counterinsurgency, stepped down from his post at the CIA in 2012 after it was revealed that he had had an affair with his biographer, Paula Broadwell.
