The Sharknado studio made a Fifty Shades of Grey parody
Can't wait until Fifty Shades of Grey hits theaters next month? Courtesy of The Asylum — the studio behind dozens of low-budget flicks, including Sharknado — you can check out a thinly-veiled riff on the steamy romance this weekend.
Bound stars Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Charisma Carpenter as Michelle Milan, a wealthy divorcee who falls for the mysterious Ryan Black (Bryce Draper), a "bold and sexually adventurous younger man who introduces her to the world of BDSM." Based on the trailer, things eventually, inevitably, go awry:
In a press release, writer/director Jared Cohn distances Bound from Fifty Shades of Grey while name-dropping Fifty Shades of Grey. In contrast to Fifty Shades, Bound is "a very distinctive and pointedly modern version of the traditional dominant/submissive stereotype," he insists — which would be a lot more convincing if he hasn't named his mysterious businessman Mr. Black.
