Sheldon Silver, New York State's powerful Democratic assembly speaker, is going to be arrested on Thursday on federal corruption charges, The New York Times reports, citing "people with knowledge of the matter." The charges aren't clear, but they reportedly stem from large payments Silver allegedly received from a law firm and failed to disclose on his annual filings, as required. Silver has been speaker of New York's lower house since 1994. Read more about the case at The New York Times.
