In a casting choice that reads like a fan fiction writer's dream, X-Men Apocalypse has recast the role of Jean Grey with one of the most notable stars from Game of Thrones. Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in the HBO fantasy drama, will step into the role originated by Famke Janssen in 2000's X-Men. Director Bryan Singer broke the news, along with several other casting announcements, on Twitter:
X-Men: Apocalypse will hit theaters in 2016.
