Seven people are confirmed dead after a Metro-North train hit a Jeep on the tracks north of White Plains, New York.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said that the car's driver was killed along with six train passengers. The accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. on the Harlem Line, and caused an explosion that set the car and train on fire, NBC New York reports. The commuter train left Grand Central Terminal in New York City at 5:45 p.m. and an estimated 750 passengers were on board. At least a dozen people are injured and have been taken to area hospitals.
