Yes, yes, we're all sick of remakes — but there are some hopeful signs that this summer's Poltergeist remake will be a cut above the usual Hollywood cash grab. Director Gil Kenan has assembled a trio of talented, underutilized stars in Sam Rockwell, Rosemary DeWitt, and Jared Harris. And the first trailer is genuinely nerve-rattling, packing in scares that include a sinister closet and a creepy clown doll:
The original Poltergeist was legendary for terrifying children at sleepovers across the country. We'll see if the remake can live up to the 1982 version when it hits theaters in July.
