Germany rebuffs Greek demand for World War II reparations

Germany on Monday shot down a Greek request for World War II reparations, further widening the rift between the new government in Athens and its eurozone partners.
"The probability is zero," Sigmar Gabriel, Germany's vice chancellor and economy minister, said.
In his first policy speech since winning office last month, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Sunday demanded the compensation while laying out a broader plan to undo the nation's austerity program. — Jon Terbush
