On Tuesday night, Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, turned himself in to police in connection with the fatal shooting of three Muslim college students at an apartment near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, local police say. Hicks is being held on three counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, Yusor Mohammad, 21, and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19. Barakat, a second-year dental student at UNC, had been married to Mohammad for a little more than a month; Abu-Salha was Mohammad's sister, a student at N.C. State University in Raleigh.
