Little League Baseball on Wednesday voided Jackie Robinson West's 2014 championship and suspended its coach after learning the team faked boundary lines to recruit players from multiple districts.
The Chicago team was the first to win Little League Baseball's international tournament with an all-black lineup. But league officials later discovered that manager Darold Butler and the heads of neighboring districts colluded to fudge the district boundaries so they could pool their best players into one powerhouse.
"It is unfortunate that the actions of adults have led to this outcome," Little League International CEO Stephen Keener said in a statement.
