In a move that will create a travel booking giant, Expedia on Thursday announced it would acquire Orbitz Worldwide for roughly $1.3 billion.

The deal furthers Expedia's aggressive buy-up of rival travel sites. Last November, the company nabbed Australia's Wotif Holdings Ltd., then turned around and gobbled up Travelocity for $280 million
