Kids can win a prize for having smelly sneakers, and 22 other weird awards
If your child is between the ages of five and 15 and has stinky shoes, perhaps you should plan a family road trip to Vermont. The state hosts the annual Odor Eaters Rotten Sneaker Contest, where the child with the smelliest shoes wins a $2500 prize.
In this week's video from our sister site, Mental Floss, Paige Finch describes the Odor Eaters contest, as well as 22 other strange but real awards. The Literary Review hands out a Bad Sex in Fiction Award every year, and dogs have their own version of the Oscars, the Golden Collar Awards.
