James Franco's next big role isn't likely to create as much controversy as his last one did: instead of assassinating a world leader, he'll be trying to save one. Hulu today announced that the Interview star will take to the small screen for its big new drama series, 11/22/63, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name.

11/22/63, which Hulu describes as "part thriller, part love story," follows a high school English teacher (Franco) who travels back in time to stop the assassination of John F. Kennedy. J.J. Abrams and Bridget Carpenter will produce the nine-hour series, which is expected to cover the entirety of the story in King's novel.
