Hillary Clinton would handily trump New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) if the two met today in a general election, according to a Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday.

In a swing state snapshot, Clinton led Christie 43 percent to 34 percent in Colorado, 44 percent to 34 percent in Iowa, and 44 percent to 39 percent in Virginia. The results further underscore Christie's deflated national standing and the trouble he'll face should he join the 2016 race. Christie trails Clinton by an average of more than nine points in a hypothetical 2016 contest, per Real Clear Politics' poll aggregator.
