Most Americans believe the rich aren't taxed enough

If tax season is making you depressed, you're not alone: An Associated Press-GfK poll found that 68 percent of Americans believe the wealthy aren't taxed enough.

The poll surveyed 1,045 adults online from Jan. 29 to Feb. 2. In addition to supporting more taxes on the rich, 60 percent of respondents said the middle class pays too much in taxes. Overall, 56 percent of respondents believe their own federal taxes are too high.

The new poll comes as President Obama has proposed to raise taxes on high-income American households in his 2016 budget. Fifty-six percent of the survey's respondents supported a measure to raise taxes on households with incomes greater than $500,000, while only 16 percent were opposed to it.
