Ayatollah Khamenei: GOP letter to Iran reveals America's 'internal disintegration'

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on Thursday said a letter from GOP lawmakers warning that Congress or a future president could nix any nuclear agreement with Tehran underscored the "ultimate degree of the collapse of political ethics and the U.S. system's internal disintegration."
"Every time we reach a stage where the end of the negotiations is in sight, the tone of the other side, specifically the Americans, becomes harsher, coarser and tougher," he said. "This is the nature of their tricks and deceptions."
Democrats condemned the GOP letter as an indecorous attempt to scuttle the ongoing nuclear negotiations. The U.S., its allies, and Iran have until the end of the month to reach a framework agreement to curb Tehran's nuclear program.
