Police make arrest in shooting of Ferguson, Missouri, police
Authorities on Sunday announced the arrest of Jeffrey Williams in connection with the shooting last week of two police officers in Ferguson, Missouri.
The 20-year-old Williams has been charged with two counts of first degree assault, firing a weapon from a motor vehicle, and three counts of armed criminal action, St. Louis County Police said Sunday. Police said they recovered the gun used in the shooting, and that Williams acknowledged his involvement. However, they said it was not yet clear if Williams intended to hit the officers or if he was shooting at someone else.
The two officers were struck with gunfire early Thursday morning during a protest outside a Ferguson police station.
