Big names from the GOP, including House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Iowa), and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) are the targets of a liberal advocacy group's latest March Madness-themed fundraiser, which is a battle to crown "the worst climate-change denier in the country."
The fundraiser, which was created by Organizing for Action, President Obama's former campaign operation, invites supporters to choose which of the "Embarrassing Eight" politicians is the most offensive climate-change denier. "We’re getting even closer to crowning our champion," said Jim Messina, Obama's 2012 campaign manager, in the email. He added that the "winner" of the bracket will be celebrated "in very public way, back in their home district."
