The Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday signed defensive end Greg Hardy to a one-year, $11.3 million contract.
Hardy missed almost all of last season after the Carolina Panthers suspended him over his arrest on domestic violence charges. A jury convicted Hardy last summer of assaulting and threatening to kill his then-girlfriend, but prosecutors tossed the case on appeal when the alleged victim declined to continue cooperating.
The league could still suspend Hardy, and reports suggest the NFL is eyeing a six-game ban to begin the season.

Hardy's signing is notable in that the subject of another high-profile domestic violence case from the NFL's horrific 2014 season, Ray Rice, has so far drawn no interest from pro teams.
