Read a new excerpt from George R.R. Martin's The Winds of Winter
Last month, George R.R. Martin, the author of the enormously popular fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, announced that he would be skipping the World Fantasy Convention in Saratoga and Comic-Con in San Diego to work on the highly anticipated The Winds of Winter, the sixth and possibly penultimate installment in the cycle.
"I have too much to do," he told readers of his blog. "Too many things on my plate. Son of Kong foremost amongst them." (Son of Kong being his euphemism for the book, Kong being A Dance With Dragons, the fifth installment.)
Now fans get to see some of the fruit of his labor. The writer released a new excerpt from TWOW on his official site. It is told through the perspective of Alayne, aka Sansa Stark.
