Only in America: Kansas bill ensures welfare recipients can't buy anything fun

Kansas lawmakers passed a bill that bans welfare recipients from spending food stamps on cruise ship fares and at lingerie shops, theme parks, and swimming pools. Republicans said the legislation is designed to ensure that people spend benefits "more responsibly," but Kansas Action for Children CEO Shannon Cotsoradis said most recipients are supporting their families on just $400 a month — so "a cruise ship is probably out of the question."
