Marvel and ABC are planning an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off
Marvel's superheroic universe just keeps getting more crowded. Entertainment Weekly reports that Marvel is in the process of developing a spin-off of ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Few details about the spin-off are currently known, but upcoming episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will reportedly lay the groundwork for the series — and by the end of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second season, it should be clear what the spin-off would be about. Ongoing subplots that could hypothetically lead to a new series include the super-powered Inhumans and a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, led by Edward James Olmos and calling themselves "the real S.H.I.E.L.D.," who have pitted themselves against Agent Coulson and his team.
If ABC decides to moves forward with the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off, it could premiere as early as fall of 2015.
