Senate panel reaches compromise on oversight of Iran nuclear deal

The Republican and Democratic heads of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday agreed to a compromise bill that would let Congress vote on the developing nuclear deal with Iran.
The bill would reduce a 60-day window to review the deal to 52 days — 30 days for an initial review, plus another 12 for a possible presidential veto and another 10 after that for a potential veto override. President Obama has vowed to veto the bill should it pass, with the White House saying Congress should "give our negotiators the best chance of success, rather than complicating their efforts."
The full Senate panel is expected to vote on the measure later Tuesday.
