The NFL on Thursday announced it had reinstated running back Adrian Peterson for the upcoming season, effective Friday. In a statement, the league said it warned Peterson that he must "fulfill his remaining obligations" with law enforcement and with the league — including his commitment to enter counseling — to remain on the field.

"Any further violation of the Personal Conduct Policy by Peterson would result in additional discipline, which could include suspension without pay or banishment from the NFL," the league said. Here's the full text:
