Woman sues Jameis Winston over alleged sexual assault

A former Florida State student who accused the school's star quarterback, Jameis Winston, of raping her in 2012 filed a civil suit on Thursday against her alleged assailant.
"Over the past two years, this survivor of sexual violence has had to endure a delinquent police investigation, a hostile FSU athletic department, and Mr. Winston's bullying lawyer," an attorney for Erica Kinsman said in a statement, adding that his client was "prepared for this fight and for the counterclaims and the smear campaigns that will surely follow."
Winston, who is expected to be a top pick in this year's NFL draft, never faced criminal charges nor school discipline for the alleged assault. The 20-year-old Kinsman voluntarily revealed her identity in a documentary about sexual assaults at colleges.
