Secret Service officers arrest fence-jumper at the White House

Late Sunday night, a person who scaled and jumped over the White House fence was taken into custody by the Secret Service.

The person climbed over the fence at 10:25 p.m. on the south side of the White House complex and was immediately arrested. The individual was carrying a package, Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary said, which has been examined and is harmless.
