Rick Perry: I'd 'probably' attend a gay wedding
Following the brouhaha over Indiana's religious freedom law, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry is the latest potential Republican presidential candidate to discuss whether he would attend a same-sex wedding. His verdict: maybe.
"I probably would," Perry said Tuesday in an interview with Hugh Hewitt, "but I think the real issue here is that's the 'gotcha' question that the left tries to get out there."
That puts Perry between former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, who said attending a same-sex wedding would "be a violation of my faith," and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who said he would attend a same-sex ceremony despite his personal objections.
