Thousands march across the United States in solidarity with Baltimore protesters

Freddie Gray protests continued in Baltimore on Wednesday, but large crowds of demonstrators also took to the streets in New York City, Boston, San Diego, and Washington, D.C. to show their support.

In New York, thousands of people were estimated to be in Union Square during the evening, and reporters from DNAinfo say that arrests were made shortly before 8 p.m. as protesters tried to march in the street on East 15th Street. Signs were posted by police stating that anyone who blocked the road or sidewalk would be arrested for disorderly conduct, and witnesses say police repeated the same message over loudspeakers.
