Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the first time in two years, the State Department announced Monday.

To be held in the city of Sochi, the talks will focus on a range of issues including the ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran, the deteriorating situation in Syria, and Ukraine. The talks are "part of our ongoing effort to maintain direct lines of communication with senior Russian officials and to ensure U.S. views are clearly conveyed," the State Department said in a statement.
