Marco Rubio and his wife have earned a whopping 17 citations for traffic infractions

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has a need for speed.
The New York Times searched court dockets from Florida's Miami-Dade and Duval counties, and found that the Rubios have received a combined 17 citations, including speeding, driving through red lights, and careless driving. Rubio received four citations, while his wife was given 13.
The Times also discovered that the Rubios agreed to attend lessons at a remedial driving school on four separate occasions. Rubio's lawyer, Alex Hanna, told the Times that Rubio's driver's license "has always been in good standing," but that his wife's license faced suspension three times.

The Rubios have paid more than $1,000 in traffic penalties, the Times notes, but Hanna helped clear Rubio's last two citations, as well as seven of his wife's last eight citations.
