Tom Hanks as a conflicted, but upstanding man determined to do the right thing? Yeah, that seems like it's in the actor's wheelhouse.
Get a first look at Hanks as American James B. Donovan, a real attorney who was charged with defending captured Soviet spy Rudolf Abel in 1957, in the first trailer for Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies, below. The film also stars Mark Rylance as Abel, Amy Ryan as Donovan's wife, and Alan Alda as Thomas Watters, a fellow attorney.
Will Spielberg score big with this old-school thriller? We'll find out when it hits theaters in October. Sarah Eberspacher
