Serena Williams beat Lucie Safarova in three sets Saturday to win her third French Open and 20th Grand Slam title. The U.S. star won the first set 6-3 before dropping the second to No. 13 Safarova, of the Czech Republic. But Williams, 33, who is internationally ranked No. 1 in women's tennis, came back 6-2 in the third set to secure the win.
Only two women in tennis history have notched more major tournament victories than Williams, the Associated Press notes: Margaret Smith Court and Steffi Graf, with 24 and 22 titles, respectively.
