American killed fighting ISIS in Syria

The State Department confirmed on Wednesday that Keith Thomas Broomfield, a 36-year-old U.S. citizen fighting alongside Kurdish forces in Syria, was killed during a battle.
Social media posts linked to the Kurdish People's Protection Units, or YPG, stated that the Massachusetts resident was killed during fighting with ISIS outside the city of Kobani. In an email to ABC News, the State Department said that it is "providing all consular assistance" and will not share any additional details about Bloomfield's death "out of respect for the privacy of [his] family."
