When fitness technology is being developed, female customers are usually an afterthought. But a new company founded by a former Oracle engineer has put ladies first, unveiling as its first product the Sensilk Flight Tech Bra ($140). The moisture-wicking bra, created by Ralph Lauren's former design director, features an innovative soft sensor built into the fabric backing the bra's elastic, making it "not only comfortable, but extremely accurate," said Marissa Sempien at Just Luxe. The sensor measures heart rate, respiratory rate, and much more, all recorded by a transmitter visible up front. A men's shirt equipped with the same technology will come next — but won't be available until later this summer.
