Law enforcement officials searching for two convicted murderers who escaped from an upstate New York prison almost a week ago are concentrating on a few square miles of dense woods east of the prison.

Richard Matt, 48, and David Sweat, 34, fled from the Clinton Correctional Facility over the weekend, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) said bloodhounds picked up a scent this morning that suggests the pair could be around Cadyville, 4 miles away from the prison. Food wrappers were found in the woods near where the men may have slept, CNN reports, and people living in the area have been told to stay inside their homes and call police if they see they escapees.
