Supply finally met demand in the long quest to get a taco emoji. Following sighs of discontent when the Apple iOS emoji update didn't include a taco, a Taco Bell-sponsored petition racked up over 30,000 signatures. And now, Unicode 8.0 has finally updated the worldwide computing industry standard to include a taco emoji. Behold:
The hard-shell taco, complete with meat, lettuce, tomato, and cheese, counts as one of 37 emojis that will officially be added to Unicode on Wednesday. The latest additions also include a burrito, a wedge of cheese, a hot dog, popcorn, turkey, and a face rolling its eyes. A few religious emoji also got added to the mix, including prayer beads, a mosque, a synagogue, the Kaaba, a menorah, and a more generic place of worship.
