A California legislator reportedly blamed California's epic drought on the state's permissive abortion laws. In a speech to a pro-life group, Republican Shannon Grove suggested that Texas' recent prolonged drought didn't end until the state passed a strict anti-abortion bill. "It rained that night," Grove said. She later claimed she'd been misquoted, but said it's clear that "God's hand is in the affairs of man."
