NBC dumps Donald Trump over 'derogatory statements' about immigrants

After many years of working with NBC, Donald Trump has been fired. The network has announced that it will cut all ties with Trump due to "recent derogatory statements" about immigrants — presumably a reference to the speech Trump used to kick off his presidential campaign, which included a series of generalized slurs about immigrants bringing drugs and crime to the United States, and the proposal of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The decision to cut all business ties with Trump means that the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants will no longer air on NBC, and that Trump will no longer appear on the long-running reality series The Apprentice.
NBC's decision comes just a few days after a Change.org petition encouraging NBC to cut ties with Trump went viral. The petition currently has 216,000 signatures.
