Only in America: Democrats introduce bill to prohibit use of 'husband' and 'wife' in federal laws
Congressional Democrats have introduced legislation to ban the use of the words "husband" and "wife" in federal laws, saying they discriminate against gay couples. "Gendered" terms "reflect prejudice and discrimination," said U.S. Rep. Lois Capps, and should be replaced by "spouse" and "married couple."
