Donald Trump still atop poll after Republican debate
Despite coming under fire for controversial comments made about Fox News anchor and moderator Megyn Kelly, Donald Trump did not fall out of favor with Republican primary voters following Thursday's debate. In an online poll conducted Friday and Saturday, NBC News found that Trump still maintained a hefty lead over his rivals for the GOP presidential nomination, with 23 percent of voter support. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) vaulted into second place with 13 percent, while Jeb Bush fell to sixth with 7 percent. Fifty-four percent of Trump's supporters additionally agreed they would go as far as to vote for him for president even if he didn't win the Republican primary. However, the winner of the debate, according to NBC voters, was the "kiddie table's" Carly Fiorina, with 22 percent, leading Rubio, Cruz — and yes, even Trump. The poll's margin of error was plus or minus 3.4 percent.
