Watch Donald Trump completely reverse his position on the flat tax — all in 1 minute
During a phone interview with Fox & Friends on Monday, Republican magpie Donald Trump argued in favor of a flat tax and its exact opposite in record time:
"You can have fair tax. You can have flat tax. You can take the existing plans that we have and simplify," Trump explained, suggesting that the exact flat tax rate — maybe "15 percent to 20 percent" — is something he hasn't determined yet.
But just a few seconds later, despite this apparent endorsement of the flat tax, Trump argued against its whole premise, saying his "one problem" with a flat tax is "that rich people are paying the same as people that are making very little money." He added, "There should be a graduation of some kind," a higher tax rate for the wealthy so taxes are not, in fact, flat.
